Citrus Grove Body Butter (7.5 oz.) $22.50 USD

Reviews: I have been SO excited to give these brand new vegan/cruelty-free products from Makes Scents Natural Spa Line a try! They have been in the works for awhile, and let me tell you, they hit it out of the park! I was generously sent 2 products to review, so let’s jump right in!

First up, is the Citrus Grove Body Scrub. I love, Love, LOVE this scent! It smells like a sweet blend of oranges mixed with lemon, lime, and grapefruit. It naturally lifts your spirits and gets you energized for the day! This is a sugar-based scrub, so the sugar granules are abrasive enough to slough away dead skin cells but not too rough that it can’t be used a couple times a week. Alpha hydroxy acids from citrus fruits also help to gently exfoliate the skin. You get 10 ounces of product in a sleek black plastic jar, which is perfect for use in the shower since it won’t break if it slips out of your hands.

This scrub definitely does its job! After the first use, my skin felt soft and smooth and it had a nice, healthy glow. The scrub leaves behind a subtle scent of citrus which is absolutely lovely.

The Citrus Grove Body Butter actually blew my mind! The consistency is so thick and the texture is so smooth, I couldn’t believe it! Sunflower and coconut oil, along with cocoa butter and citrus essential oils makes this a truly luxurious and effective moisturizer to use on your freshly exfoliated skin.

This body butter melts into the skin completely and does not feel greasy whatsoever. You’re left with soft, radiant skin that smells incredible! You get 7.5 ounces of product which will last for quite some time because a little bit goes a long way.

I also used this on my feet and elbows, which are always, always dry. This body butter did a wonderful job moisturizing and bringing my skin back to life. If a product can make my dry feet look and feel better, it is a winner!

The Bottom Line

These products are fantastic! They are super luxurious and made with high quality, all-natural ingredients. I recommend these products to anyone that wants to pamper and care for their skin! They even have 2 ounce samples that you can buy to try out the line!

Thank you, Makes Scents Natural Spa Line, for sending me your brand new products to review! I’m a huge fan!

LemonGrass Body X Foliants (8 ounces $28.00 USD)

Reviews:

I was very excited to try out 2 products from Ojai Sugar’s Petals Collection! This is a long review, so if you’re curious and want a quick info, skip to The Bottom Line at the end of this post!

The Petals Collection Facial Waters is made for all skin types and is packed with powerful plant-based ingredients. Rose, chamomile, geranium, and helicrysum hydrate, balance and tone the skin while hibiscus extract plumps and tightens, aloe vera calms, and witch hazel purifies.

This toner does everything that you want and more! It certainly calms the skin, lightly hydrates, and preps the skin for serums/oils. It has a light floral scent and I only needed 2 pumps for my entire face. I used this in the AM and PM and really liked using this on days that I didn’t want to wear makeup. It gave my skin a refreshed, healthy glow.

The Petals Collection Facial Oil is made to complement the Facial Waters and is also suitable for all skin types. The ingredients list includes; Borage, Camellia Seed, Rosehip, Sea Buckthorn, Meadowfoam, Squalane (olive derivative) Vitamin E. Essential Oils: *Cistus (Rockrose), Rose, Neroli, and Rose Geranium. These ingredients are known to hydrate, nourish, calm, and brighten the skin.  It also contains a unique ingredient that I hadn’t used before called Rockrose. “Cistus/Rockrose with its warm amber notes set this blend apart with its ability to rejuvenate aging skin, reduce wrinkles, tighten loose muscles and calms inflamed and irritated skin.”

This Facial Oil has a sweet, floral fragrance. It comes packaged in a beautiful frosted glass bottle with a dropper to keep the product sanitary and to help dispense the desired amount. I used about 5 drops to cover my entire face a few minutes after using the Facial Waters. I opted to use this at as a night serum because it was slightly tacky for about an hour on my skin. This oil is thicker than other oils I have used, so you do have to work it into your skin for a minute or two. As with any facial oil, you need to massage the product into your skin to get the most benefits from the product. It doesn’t do much good to put it on and just let it sit.

I woke up to hydrated skin that looked healthy and dewy. My face is usually sensitive, dry, and somewhat problematic and after using this product it looked less red and dry. I do have to note that I experienced multiple breakouts while using this, but I have been very stressed, so I can’t say for sure what the cause is. I asked my boyfriend to try it for few days. He did not experience breakouts and said his skin wasn’t as dry or red.

The LemonGrass Body X Foliant has a bright, citrusy and slightly floral fragrance from essential oils of bergamot, geranium, and lemongrass. This sugar scrub will without a doubt perk up your senses while scrubbing away dull, dry skin. It has a whipped consistency and the sugar scrubs away dull skin without being too rough. After using this, my skin was noticeably moisturized thanks to the pumpkin seed butter, almond, coconut, and grapeseed oils! As a bonus, the essential oils fill the shower with their uplifting fragrance and leaves a subtle scent on the skin.

The Bottom Line

Ojai Sugar Sustainable Skincare creates products that are vegan, cruelty-free and made with fabulous, all natural ingredients including therapeutic essential oils. They are made to address dry, sensitive, mature, acne-prone skin along with rosacea and eczema.

I think the Facial Oil would be absolutely wonderful for people with sensitive or dry skin or people that want to address fine lines and firmness. In my opinion, this Facial Oil would be best for people that are not experiencing acne or frequent breakouts since the formula is quite thick. In my experience, breakouts need to be treated and also need to be able to breathe and heal.

I plan to use this facial oil in the upcoming winter months when my skin gets super dry!  I must note that the fragrance of this oil is quite strong, so if you do not enjoy floral fragrances, this would not be for you. For me, I quite liked catching hints of the scent throughout the day!

The Facial Waters contains Witch Hazel which is a natural acne fighter so I will continue to use it in my routine to clear up my skin. It’s calming and nourishing ingredients make it an excellent way to freshen up your skin or to prep it for serums and other treatments.

The LemonGrass Body X Foliant did a wonderful job softening and hydrating my skin.  Even my boyfriend, who does not enjoy or care about skin care what-so-ever, liked the clean, crisp scent. The sugar is rough enough to smooth and soften skin, but not too abrasive that you can’t use it a few times per week. I highly recommend this product and look forward to trying the other scents!

Products:

Sugar High Candy Scrub (8 ounces) $12.00 USD

Chai-nning Tatum Body Scrub (8 ounces) $12.00 USD

Sweet Tart Soap Bar (3.5 ounces) $6.00 USD

Reviews:

Helloooo again, my friends! I am so excited to talk to you about these Soaps & Sunflowers products! They really exceeded my expectations, which are always high, to begin with! Alright, let’s get to it!

The first product I tried was the Sugar High Candy Scrub because it smells like Cotton Candy and reminds me of the body mist that everyone and their uncle used when I was in middle school! The scent is super sweet and has a slight menthol-like effect when you smell it. It’s really unique and I gotta say, I love it!

This scrub is sugar-based and contains coconut oil and shea butter. When I first used this, I was SHOCKED at how soft it made my skin! I’m telling you, it’s the softest a scrub has EVER made it! Best of all, it not only leaves your skin soft and moisturized, the Cotton Candy scent sticks around for awhile to sweeten up your day!

The Chai-nning Tatum Body Scrub is also sugar-based and contains coconut oil, shea butter, and jojoba oil. It contains Chai tea and vanilla to give it the delicious scent of a vanilla chai latté. The scent is not as strong as the Sugar High Body Scrub, but it is fabulous nonetheless!

Just like Sugar High, the Chai-nning Tatum (I just love the name!) makes your skin incredibly soft and smooth. Your skin is left delicately fragranced and so hydrated that you can skip the lotion after your shower! I don’t know what it is about this specific formula, but I am really impressed!

Last was the Sweet Tart Bar Soap. I love Love LOVE lemon and citrusy scented soaps and lotions, and this bad boy was no exception! This handmade soap contains canola, castor, coconut, and palm oil*** (see below), along with shea butter to create a truly moisturizing lather. The scent is bright and uplifting and your hands are left feeling soft and clean. You can’t ask for much more than that! Oh, they’re also really pretty… they definitely give me a unicorn vibe with its swirls of pink, yellow, and blue.

The Bottom Line:

Soaps & Sunflowers Bath and Body Co. creates some fantastic vegan and cruelty-free products. The scrubs smell fantastic and they leave your skin unbelievably soft. The Sweet Tart Bar Soap leaves your skin feeling hydrated and smelling beautiful. I highly recommend trying out these products for yourself!
