Almond Butter Chunk Baked Granola

Reviews:

Super crunchy biscotti pieces with Chocolate Chips? Yup! They exist and I’m loving them! Healing Home Foods’ Chocolate Chip Biscotti Bites are not too sweet and have a wonderful oven-baked flavor, which paired perfectly with my almond milk latte. They’re made with almond flour and other plant-based ingredients, so vegans and people that avoid gluten will be able to enjoy them! A handful of these and my regular cup of coffee kept me full and running ’till lunch time!

Next up, are the amazingly delicious Pizza Thins! These crispy little crackers are bursting with Italian flavors thanks to Sun-dried Tomatoes, Garlic, Basil, and Oregano! These little guys pop with tangy tomato and they’re completely addicting! I may or may not have polished off the entire bag in one sitting (I absolutely did). You will think you’re diving into a freshly baked slice of your favorite vegan pizza! I’m in love!

Last but not least, is the Almond Butter Chunk Granola! What’s not to like about big, hearty pieces of baked oats and almond butter? This raw, gluten-free granola is subtly sweet and makes a  satisfying snack or meal. It’s made with Gluten-Free rolled oats, *sprouted almonds, *maple syrup, *almond butter, gluten-free quick oats, *maple sugar, *ground flaxseed, *coconut oil, vanilla flavor, and Himalayan crystal salt. It’s so tasty, you’d never think it was raw, vegan, OR good for you!

The Bottom Line

Healing Home Foods makes unique snacks that are vegan, organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, and truly delicious! If I had to choose one item from the list above to recommend, I would say definitely try out the Pizza Thins… or maybe the Biscotti Bites… or the granola. Haha, I don’t know, just try them all and let me know which one you like the best!

Thank you, Home Healing Foods, for sending me these awesome snacks to try!

My Favorite Indulgence – World Class Granola That Tastes Like Dessert!

Company: My Favorite Indulgence

Products:

Chocolate Mocha Granola

Pumpkin Spiced Granola

Maple Cinnamon Granola

Classic Almond Granola

Reviews:

Is your morning routine missing a little something? Toast and coffee not cutting it anymore? Try My Favorite Indulgence World Class Granola! (How’d you like my infomercial impression?) These granolas are vegan and made with natural, non-GMO ingredients. There’s nothing on the labels that you won’t be able to pronounce and the flavors are incredible! Alright, let’s jump right in!

First up, is the Chocolate Mocha Granola. I love chocolate. I love coffee. I love granola. So obviously I had high hopes for this one! I was not let down! The sweet, cocoa flavor along with the crunchiness of the oats and almonds really can’t be beat! There is even a hint of cinnamon which really amps up the flavor. I paired this with almond milk and it was like eating a dessert for breakfast. I’m in love!

Next, is the Pumpkin Spiced Granola. As far as I’m concerned, Pumpkin Spiced flavored foods should be eaten year round! Some “pumpkin” flavored foods taste artificial and not very appetizing. This granola, on the other hand, is done right! It contains actually pumpkin which is the primary flavor of this granola, along with pure maple syrup, dried cranberries, almonds, and pumpkin seeds. It is subtly sweet, crunchy and tastes like pumpkin pie. It’s pumpkin perfection!

The Maple Cinnamon Granola (listed on their website as “Nut-Free Granola) is phenomenal! The sweetness from the pure maple syrup with the pleasant bitterness of the cinnamon and the crunch of the oats; this granola does not disappoint! This flavor is nut-free and perfect for someone that isn’t into “dessert” flavors like the ones above or just prefers simpler flavor profiles.

Last but not least is the Classic Almond Granola (listed on their website as “Granola With Nuts”). If you’re a traditional granola lover, this is for you! This variety contains almonds, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds. I’ve never had granola with all three, so I was interested to try this! Just because it is “Classic” doesn’t mean it’s boring! The blend of maple syrup, brown sugar, and vanilla along with the oats, nuts, and seeds is truly delicious!

The Bottom Line

These granolas from My Favorite Indulgence are fantastic. They’re vegan, healthy and oh-so-delicious! All of the flavors are non-GMO and make a satisfying meal or snack.  I love each and every flavor and actually couldn’t pick a favorite! I love that they come in a large 10 oz. size for home and also come in 2 oz. snack sizes to take on the go! Head on over to the My Favorite Indulgence website to check out their world-class granola!

Thank you, My Favorite Indulgence, for sending me these products to review!

Zeke’s Beans N Bowls

Location:

Zeke’s Beans N Bowls

616 Norfolk Ave.

Virginia Beach, VA

757-963-5155

Atmosphere:

As I pulled up to this place, I wasn’t sure what I was going to find.  Zeke’s outer appearance is what some might call “shabby”.  I was happily surprised when I walked in the door.  Mom was right again, damn it, don’t judge a book by its cover.

For lack of a better term, the style of this place is “surf hipster”.  Mismatched sofas and cushioned chairs, retro stereo equipment that played some sort of dance/electronic songs, books that looked liked they have been kicked around for a decade or so, surf magazines and boards, and random items such as old school badminton rackets.  They even had paintings on the walls for sale, including a yogi meditating in a sunset and a psychedelic storm trooper right next to it.

Food:

Well, there were plenty of vegan options here. From smoothie bowls to salads, and an array of pitas and sandwiches that could sub-out the meat for tofu. Yay!

I ordered a latté and the “North Pole Bowl”, both pictured above. The latté went for $4.00 and the bowl went for $9.00. I ordered the Regular size, but there is also a smaller option.

The latté  had a lotté of cinnamon. Haha, see what I did there?! I did not get much of a coffee flavor, just a mouthful of cinnamon, but I appreciated that it was made with almond milk and had lots of foam. Party in my mouth!

The North Pole Bowl featured an acai smoothie with cinnamon granola, mango, sliced banana, blueberries, almonds, and shredded coconut.  This was exactly what I didn’t know I needed in my life! So fresh, fruity, and flavorful, my vegan heart and tastebuds were singing Katy Perry’s “Firework”, and I’m pretty sure I was dancing a little as I ate this cool, crunchy, and sweet combo.

DIG IT or DITCH IT?

DIG IT! The relaxed hipster attitude, delicious and fresh ingredients, along with the multitude of vegan options, makes this place a must. I’ll definitely be returning in the future, and also recreating this bowl at home!
