Reviews:

ZGLOW makes organic, vegan and cruelty-free face masks that beautify your skin naturally. With ingredients like blueberry, pumpkin, aloe, white tea and shea butter, these masks are a natural beauty lovers dream!

The Blueberry Antioxidant Mask smells like a fresh blueberry smoothie! Its consistency is that of a thick lotion, which means it doesn’t drip all over the place as you use it. Yay! Aloe vera, shea butter, mango butter, olive and almond oil make this mask super hydrating and nourishing.  I used this on my face for 15 minutes and after my skin was moisturized and looking dewy and refreshed! I really can’t get over the smell of this one. It is so so nice!

The Clearing Mud Mask is thick skin treatment aimed at reducing oil production and killing bacteria to clear and prevent breakouts. The star ingredients of this mask include:

“Pure Arctic mineral mud blended with botanicals, extracts, marine minerals and protein will promote firmness while clearing breakouts. Includes Aloe Vera, Chamomile and Japanese Green Tea which assist in rejuvenating the skin, while Cucumber Extract will help tighten pores. Enjoy our exclusive essential oils blend of Cedarwood, Geranium, Lemon, Lime, Juniper Berry, Lemongrass assist in balancing the skin and preventing overproduction of oil”

I used this mask on my T zone (does anyone even say that anymore? I mean my forehead, nose, and chin). I added a little bit of water to it before hand, and let it sit for about 15 minutes. I have clogged pores on my forehead that never turn into pimples, they just hang around forever and make my skin look bumpy. After using this mask, I noticed that the bumps had been dried out a bit and easier to extract. The bacteria and oil seemed to have been drawn out of my pores and had begun to start clearing my skin! With just two uses, that is pretty impressive!

The Moisture Infused Mask has a thick consistency like the others, and a fresh, natural scent. This mask is a “creamy luxurious mask that eases wrinkles, fine lines and smoothes the surface with a slight plumping action.”It also contains hyaluronic acid (organic plant source) a super moisturizing property for skin. The hydration doesn’t stop there we’ve added sweet almond oil, olive oil, grape seed oil and sunflower seed oil.”

This mask is intended for dry, mature and/or sensitive skin. It definitely gives you a boost of hydration after using it! If you’ve read my reviews before, you know I like a good multifunctional product, so I used this on my excessively dry and peeling lips. I’m happy to report that it did an awesome job bringing my lips (and skin) back to life! I think this mask would be great for just about anyone looking to moisturize their skin.

Last up, is the Pumpkin Exfoliating Mask which smells and looks like pumpkin purèe! This mask contains “organic pumpkin puree with pineapple and carrot root to clear away old surface cells and pore congestion.” It also claims to “diminish fine lines, hydrate and reveal dewy skin with renewing apple, bilberry, lemon peel, orange peel and papaya extracts.”

With an ingredient list like that, who could refuse?

I couldn’t help but look forward to the Fall while using this mask. It smells like pumpkin pie, and like almost every girl, I love pumpkin spice everything! This mask hydrates, exfoliates, and purifies and brightens skin… what more could you ask for? I like this product because it gets the job done, but it also is fun and different to use. This would make an awesome holiday gift! *Stay tuned for my upcoming Vegan and Cruelty-Free Holiday Gift Guide!

The Bottom Line

If you’re into natural skin care and beauty, you must check out ZGLOW Skin Care’s face masks. No matter your skin type, there’s a mask for you! I liked using the Clearing Mud Mask on my forehead, nose, and chin, the Blueberry Antioxidant Mask on my cheeks, and the Moisture Infused Mask on my lips! Who says you have to use only one mask? Mix and match to address your specific skin concerns!

Above all else, I love that these masks are vegan, cruelty-free and organic. I highly recommend these products! My skin is looking healthy, clearer, and cared for. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for ZGLOW!

Thank you, ZGLOW Skin Care, for sending me these samples to review!

Products:

Orange Blossom and Sunflower Nourishing Cleanser (6 oz. – $30.00 USD)

Dew Extreme Moisture Infusion Serum (1 oz. –  $25.00)

Review:

The Orange Blossom and Sunflower Nourishing Cleanser contains Aloe Vera, Sunflower Seed Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Avocado Oil, Orange Blossom Fruit Extract, Black Currant Seed Oil, and Red Raspberry Seed Oil. With ingredients like that, you know the product is going to be good, and I loved using it! It’s sweet and bright citrus fragrance instantly lifted my mood as it removed all traces of my foundation, concealer, eyeliner, mascara, and brow pencil! After using this, my skin felt clean and healthy, not overly dry or tight in any way. 1 pump was more than enough product to remove my full face of makeup, so the bottle will last for quite some time.  It is definitely a new member of my daily skincare routine!

The Dew Extreme Moisture Infusion Serum contains many natural and lovely ingredients, including Aloe Vera, Blue Passion Flower, and Mannentake and Shiitake Mushroom extracts. This serum has a fresh fruity and floral fragrance (say that 3 times fast!) that instantly wakes up your senses and brings your skin to life!  Like the name implies, it gives your skin a shot of moisture, which my dry skin really needs. This serum is light and absorbs quickly into the skin. With a few uses, my skin looked smoother and my redness was calmed. I used this product in the morning before applying my makeup and it helped my foundation glide on easier. My skin did, in fact, look dewy and hydrated. I also used this at night and I woke up to perfectly moisturized skin. I was actually comfortable going out in public with little or no face make up (LOVE it!).

The Bottom Line

I truly adore companies like Bloom Making Skin Happy. Their products are naturally effective, smell fantastic, and the packaging is as cute as can be! The packaging is made of recycled plastic, the labels are printed with soy ink, and they are a Zero Waste company. How awesome is that? Of course, the products are vegan and cruelty-free and they use only high-quality organic ingredients. With their fabulous and naturally powerful products, conscientious packaging, and anti-cruelty stance, Bloom is everything a company should be! Please check out their website and let me know what products are your favorite!

October’s Treasure Hunt

It’s the end of October, and here are some vegan treasures that I’ve found!

First up, is Amy’s Pad Thai! For about $3, this is way cheaper than going out for Thai food, and it’s really not too far off when it comes to flavor.  Tender noodles, carrots, broccoli, peanuts, and tiny cubes of tofu, in a tangy and sweet sauce.  Loved it!

Next, is Nature’s Path Dark Chocolate Chip waffles.  These babies are gluten-free and organic, and have the richest dark chocolate chips in them!  I baked mine up in a convention oven until they were super crispy, then added some coconut oil and pumpkin pie spice… So so good! They were equally delicious with peanut butter.  I’ll definitely be getting these again.

Next, is Kiss My Face Flouride Free Triple Action Gel.  I’ve been looking for a Flouride free toothpaste for awhile (read up on the effects of Flouride), and was really hoping this one would get the job done.  Well, it did!  I’ve been using it for a month, and my teeth feel clean and my gums feel healthy.  This gel formula contains Xylitol, tea tree oil, silica, peppermint, and Zinc Citrate, to do what traditional toothpastes do, but without the side effects.  I really like nice mild mint flavor and will continue to use this for a long time!

And last on my list has been a long time favorite turned unfavorite … As you might have heard, Ellen DeGeneres, animal rights advocate and vegan, shockingly started a shoe line that included leather.  For the life of me, I do not understand this, and sincerely hope that she changes this very, very soon. To make matters worse, it appears that she is pairing up with the worst people in Hollywood, that happen to be a couple (I will not put their names in my blog), and selling more items made of animal materials.  What. The. Actual. Hell.?  I will not be watching her show again, that’s for sure. Read more below.

Well, that does it for me.  I’ve been really busy this month since I’m moving to Asheville! There are plenty of Veg restaurants there, so you’ll be hearing from me soon!

What have you been loving this month?
