California Pure Naturals Skincare Review

Happy Sunday! I hope you’re having a fantastic weekend! It’s unusually warm in North Carolina today, so I was able to get some sunny pictures of the California Pure Naturals products I recently tried out!

So, a little info about this vegan and cruelty-free company:

“We are 100% committed to bringing you the safest, most potent and effective natural beauty products. We take the best of nature and combine it with our experience creating dermatologist grade formulas, for a superior, clean and pure skin care experience.”

California Pure Naturals Dual Action Scrub
California Pure Naturals Dual Action Scrub

First, I tried their Dual Action Scrub featuring California Pure Naturals’ Blackberry Antioxidant Complex. This multi-purpose scrub contains organic blackberry, kiwi, pomegranate, and grape to give your skin a burst of antioxidants to combat signs of aging, and walnut shell and papaya fruit extract to exfoliate away dullness.

This scrub smells fresh, fruity and delicious. The walnut shells are very fine, making this the perfect product to use for gentle exfoliation a few times per week. It leaves your face feeling and looking smooth and glowy without irritation. This scrub has definitely made its way into my heart (and skincare routine)!

California Pure Naturals Renewal Facial Serum

Next, is the Renewal Facial Serum designed to nourish and hydrate your skin with their Blackberry Antioxidant Complex mentioned above, Hyaluronic Acid, and vitamins C and E. This lightweight, lotion-like serum, instantly absorbs into the skin, leaving it silky smooth. It has the same, faint berry scent as the scrub, and is the perfect moisturizer to use both day and night. This is another winner!

California Pure Naturals Glow Facial Serum

Last, is the Glow Facial Oil featuring the Black Berry Antioxidant complex, and Jojoba and Evening Primrose oil to deeply hydrate and nourish the skin for a brighter, healthy appearance. Just like the serum, this product absorbs into the skin right away, and gives a dewy glow while providing deep hydration. I used this product at night and woke up to gorgeous skin!

The Bottom Line

Don’t miss out on California Pure Naturals’ products! Fruit is great for your insides, and it’s also fabulous for your skin! The more natural your products, the healthier you will be and the better your skin will look. Don’t clog your pores or absorb harmful chemicals when there are natural, vegan products like these available! I absolutely adore this line of products and my skin looks healthy, hydrated, and happy! I really couldn’t ask for more! Please give these products a try and let me know what you think!

Thank you, California Pure Naturals, for sending me these wonderful products to review!

SanRe Organic Skinfood’s Hemp Revival Serum Review

Hello again and Happy Holidays! I’m back with a brand new skincare review for you!

If you’ve been paying attention, or on social media at all, you probably know hemp has made its way into the beauty industry! I had the opportunity to try out SanRe Organic Skinfood’s Hemp Revival Face & Neck Serum and I’m so glad I did!

So, why is hemp so beneficial? Hemp is a powerhouse ingredient that contains Omega-6 fatty acids which help to moisturize, soothe inflammation, moderate oil production, and encourages new cell regeneration. Sounds good to me!

This serum not only contains hemp, it also contains chia seed oil, sea buckthorn oil, and sancha inchi to nourish the skin while fighting fine lines and increasing elasticity. In other words… if you want healthy, young looking skin, you want to use these ingredients!

Ok, so this serum contains high-quality, organic ingredients with great benefits… but how did it work?

I used this serum at night after cleansing and toning my face and neck. The thin consistency of the oil helped it to absorb quite quickly into my skin and left my face looking fresh and slightly dewy.. This serum could easily be used before make up if you give it a few minutes to sink in before hand. This product has a very subtle herbal scent to it, which you will not notice once it is applied. It is suitable for all skin types.

The Bottom Line

I really, really love this serum! My face is hydrated and has a healthy glow! This serum helped to reduce redness, improve texture for a smoother look, and generally gives a youthful appearance to the skin! Not to mention, it is vegan (of course), cruelty-free and made with organic ingredients! I’m in love! Thank you, SanRe Organic Skinfood, for sending me this wonderful serum to review!

It’s Really Vegan Complete Pancake and Waffle Mix Review

I must be honest, I haven’t had pancakes in a long, LONG time! I have very little time to cook, and the store-bought stuff is full of chemicals and other stuff I don’t want to eat, so I just kind of gave up on the idea of having pancakes. Well, I was THRILLED to find It’s Really Vegan Complete Pancake/Waffle Mix!

As the name indicates, this product is vegan, soy-free, egg-free, and dairy-free! All you need to do is add water, give the batter a quick mix, and within a few minutes on a hot skillet or griddle, you have light, airy, and golden-brown pancakes!

The Original Mix has a subtle sweetness to them so they are extra delicious! I really enjoyed these with maple syrup and fruit on top. After taking these pictures, I added some blueberries to the batter, and oh my goodness, these blueberry pancakes were better than anything I remember ordering at a restaurant! I’m in love! Here’s the full ingredient list:

They also offer a Chocolate flavor that has a subtle cocoa flavor and pairs perfectly with rich maple syrup or even chocolate chips! The chocolate flavor was just as fluffy and delicious as the Original flavor! You can check out the ingredients in the Chocolate Mix below:

The Bottom Line

If you’re vegan or just want to eat healthier, yet you don’t have a lot of time to cook, It’s Really Vegan Complete Pancake/Waffle Mix is for you! You can whip up mouth-watering, better than restaurant quality pancakes for you and your family in no time! My non-vegan boyfriend said they tasted amazing and I must agree, this mix is absolutely fabulous. I highly, highly recommend giving these a try!

Thank you, It’s Really Vegan, for sending me this product to review!

Review: Simple Cafe & Juice Bar in Asheville, NC!

Hello, hello! I’m here to share my thoughts on a brand new café and juice bar in the cute and trendy West Asheville area!

Location: Simple Cafe & Juice Bar, 643 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC 28806

Atmosphere: Simple Cafe & Juice Bar definitely draws you in. The overall vibe is laid-back, despite a steady stream of customers! The interior design is clean, comfortable, natural, and  minimalistic (totally my scene!). There’s seating at the bar along the window and cushioned seats in the main eating area. Upon ordering, we received a nice, friendly greeting from Suzie, one of the owners, who also let us know they would be launching some new seasonal items very soon.

Food:  When I write these reviews, I usually take a few notes while I’m in the restaurant and wait a few days before posting. However, I enjoyed the food SO much, I wanted to post right away! You can find their menu here.

The first menu item I ordered was the Vegan Bahn Mi. Let me tell you, this sandwich was FULL of flavor and I couldn’t get enough! This bad boy featured house-made sietan that had a meaty, sausage-like flavor, tangy Vietnamese pickles, a nutty mushroom walnut paté, crunchy cucumbers and carrots, jalapeños and spicy mayo for some heat, and cilantro… all piled onto a fresh, soft roll. If I had more room in my stomach when I left, I would have ordered another!

Next, I tried the Supa Dupa Acai Bowl. I love a good smoothie bowl, I really do. I just don’t eat them very often because I don’t keep a ton of fresh fruit and toppings on hand. So, when I can get a great smoothie bowl, I truly appreciate it and this Supa Dupa did not disappoint!

The base was a sweet Acai smoothie covered with bluebs, strawbs, and bananas. For some crunch, there were crispy coconut strips, chia seeds, and some sweet, cinnamon-y granola with pumpkin seeds. This bowl was fresh, healthy, and downright delicious!

Last, and not at all least, was the Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie! I honestly don’t know how this little gem was healthy, but it was! I made sure to ask if it was vegan, because the menu said it contained yogurt. Make sure you ask when you order and they can mostly likely create a vegan version, like they did for me.

Strawberries, bananas, cashew butter, vanilla almond milk, blended together and topped with graham cracker dust? Yes, please! I recommend ordering this for a sweet, rich dessert (it really did taste like cake!) or when you really want a healthy treat but don’t want to throw away all of those hours at the gym!

Dig it or Ditch it? Friends (deep breath), I must tell you Simple Cafe & Juice Bar has become one of my favorite places! Yes, the new kid in town has stolen my little vegan heart! I tend to return to the same handful of establishments because I know the food is great and I will be treated well.  The food, atmosphere, and service at Simple were exactly what I wanted it to be. Everything I ordered was fresh, healthy, and bursting with flavor. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful and the welcoming atmosphere will definitely make me return again soon. I 100% DIG IT!

I overheard they had vegan soup and faux lox and I can’t wait to try out their new seasonal items. I had my eye on their Carrot Cake Smoothie and some of their baked goods and coffee, so I’ll let you know how they are!
