It’s Really Vegan Complete Pancake and Waffle Mix Review

I must be honest, I haven’t had pancakes in a long, LONG time! I have very little time to cook, and the store-bought stuff is full of chemicals and other stuff I don’t want to eat, so I just kind of gave up on the idea of having pancakes. Well, I was THRILLED to find It’s Really Vegan Complete Pancake/Waffle Mix!

As the name indicates, this product is vegan, soy-free, egg-free, and dairy-free! All you need to do is add water, give the batter a quick mix, and within a few minutes on a hot skillet or griddle, you have light, airy, and golden-brown pancakes!

The Original Mix has a subtle sweetness to them so they are extra delicious! I really enjoyed these with maple syrup and fruit on top. After taking these pictures, I added some blueberries to the batter, and oh my goodness, these blueberry pancakes were better than anything I remember ordering at a restaurant! I’m in love! Here’s the full ingredient list:

They also offer a Chocolate flavor that has a subtle cocoa flavor and pairs perfectly with rich maple syrup or even chocolate chips! The chocolate flavor was just as fluffy and delicious as the Original flavor! You can check out the ingredients in the Chocolate Mix below:

The Bottom Line

If you’re vegan or just want to eat healthier, yet you don’t have a lot of time to cook, It’s Really Vegan Complete Pancake/Waffle Mix is for you! You can whip up mouth-watering, better than restaurant quality pancakes for you and your family in no time! My non-vegan boyfriend said they tasted amazing and I must agree, this mix is absolutely fabulous. I highly, highly recommend giving these a try!

Review: Simple Cafe & Juice Bar in Asheville, NC!

Hello, hello! I’m here to share my thoughts on a brand new café and juice bar in the cute and trendy West Asheville area!

Location: Simple Cafe & Juice Bar, 643 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC 28806

Atmosphere: Simple Cafe & Juice Bar definitely draws you in. The overall vibe is laid-back, despite a steady stream of customers! The interior design is clean, comfortable, natural, and  minimalistic (totally my scene!). There’s seating at the bar along the window and cushioned seats in the main eating area. Upon ordering, we received a nice, friendly greeting from Suzie, one of the owners, who also let us know they would be launching some new seasonal items very soon.

Food:  When I write these reviews, I usually take a few notes while I’m in the restaurant and wait a few days before posting. However, I enjoyed the food SO much, I wanted to post right away! You can find their menu here.

The first menu item I ordered was the Vegan Bahn Mi. Let me tell you, this sandwich was FULL of flavor and I couldn’t get enough! This bad boy featured house-made sietan that had a meaty, sausage-like flavor, tangy Vietnamese pickles, a nutty mushroom walnut paté, crunchy cucumbers and carrots, jalapeños and spicy mayo for some heat, and cilantro… all piled onto a fresh, soft roll. If I had more room in my stomach when I left, I would have ordered another!

Next, I tried the Supa Dupa Acai Bowl. I love a good smoothie bowl, I really do. I just don’t eat them very often because I don’t keep a ton of fresh fruit and toppings on hand. So, when I can get a great smoothie bowl, I truly appreciate it and this Supa Dupa did not disappoint!

The base was a sweet Acai smoothie covered with bluebs, strawbs, and bananas. For some crunch, there were crispy coconut strips, chia seeds, and some sweet, cinnamon-y granola with pumpkin seeds. This bowl was fresh, healthy, and downright delicious!

Last, and not at all least, was the Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie! I honestly don’t know how this little gem was healthy, but it was! I made sure to ask if it was vegan, because the menu said it contained yogurt. Make sure you ask when you order and they can mostly likely create a vegan version, like they did for me.

Strawberries, bananas, cashew butter, vanilla almond milk, blended together and topped with graham cracker dust? Yes, please! I recommend ordering this for a sweet, rich dessert (it really did taste like cake!) or when you really want a healthy treat but don’t want to throw away all of those hours at the gym!

Dig it or Ditch it? Friends (deep breath), I must tell you Simple Cafe & Juice Bar has become one of my favorite places! Yes, the new kid in town has stolen my little vegan heart! I tend to return to the same handful of establishments because I know the food is great and I will be treated well.  The food, atmosphere, and service at Simple were exactly what I wanted it to be. Everything I ordered was fresh, healthy, and bursting with flavor. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful and the welcoming atmosphere will definitely make me return again soon. I 100% DIG IT!

I overheard they had vegan soup and faux lox and I can’t wait to try out their new seasonal items. I had my eye on their Carrot Cake Smoothie and some of their baked goods and coffee, so I’ll let you know how they are!

Fyve Skincare Review: Vegan Products with 5 Ingredients or Less!

Calling all natural skincare fans! I’ve discovered a new, vegan, and cruelty-free skincare line and I’m so excited to share it with you!

Fyve skincare products are made with just 5 natural ingredients or less! That’s a BIG deal! If you look at the ingredients list of typical store-bought skincare products, the list is a mile long and you can pretty much bet they’re not vegan and/or cruelty-free. That’s what makes FYVE different! As you know, I review A LOT of skincare… and I’ve learned the cleaner the products, the better my skin looks!

Alright, let’s jump into the reviews!

First up, is Fyve’s Facial Melting Cleanser. This oil-based cleanser comes in a glass bottle (yay for less plastic waste!) with a handy pump. It contains Sunflower, Safflower, Castor, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, and essential oils. That’s it!

All you do is rub this thin oil cleanser onto your dry skin, and then gently remove it with a damp wash cloth. Since this is an oil cleanser, it does not foam up or strip away natural oils. The essential oils used in this product are Tea Tree, Patchouli, and Ylang Ylang, which give it a natural, earthy, floral fragrance. It removed all of my makeup and left my skin feeling thoroughly cleaned without feeling tight or dry. I highly recommend using Fyve’s 100% Organic Bamboo Face Towel with this! It is super soft and adds a little exfoliation to your cleansing routine!

Next up, is Fyve’s Hydrating Face Oil made with Meadowfoam Oil  (deeply moisturizes and packed with antioxidants), Olive Squalene Oil (soothes, moisturizes, and protects skin), Evening Primrose Oil (anti-inflammatory used for acne and wrinkles), Cranberry Seed Oil (contains fatty acids and antioxidants), and Matricaria Flower extract (soothes and moisturizes skin). To be honest, I had not heard of a few of these ingredients before, but I’ll be the first to tell ya that they work!

After using the cleanser, I massaged 3-5 drops of this oil into my skin. Within minutes, my face was moisturized and noticeably less red. I naturally have a lot of pink in my skin, so I truly appreciate this anti-inflammatory effect!

This week, we got about a foot of snow, and with it, I got a terrible cold. I had to blow my nose about 1,000 times which left the skin around my nose extremely red and raw (you know how it is). Within 2-3 applications of this oil, I am thrilled to say my nose completely healed up! I REALLY love this stuff!

Last, is the Fyve Lip Balm Set that comes with 4 delicious balms in a cute metal tin. In all honesty, I wanted to give this away as a Christmas gift, but I try out each and every product to make sure my reviews are genuine. Really though, this little set is adorable and the flavors of these balms are SO GOOD! The Orange Tangerine has a sweet, citrus scent. The Cocoa Mint is perfect for this time of year with its refreshing chocolatey flavor, and the Grapefruit has a light, tangy citrus flavor. My favorite is the Coconut Lime… the lime flavor is so bright it instantly puts me in a good mood!

All of the balms except for the Cocoa Mint have a base of Sunflower oil, Coconut oil, and Candelilla wax. The Cocoa Mint’s base is Olive oil, Cocoa butter, Avocado and Candelilla wax. All of these balms are flavored with natural oils.

These lip balms glide on effortlessly and instantly melt into your lips. Like I said before, I was sick and a complete mess. My lips were SO chapped and cracked… until I started using these! I used a balm before bedtime and within a day or two, my lips were healthy and moisturized! You can bet your pretty little face I keep one of these with me at all times!

The Bottom Line:

Fyve 5 Ingredients or less products have quickly become some of my favorites! Using clean, animal-friendly products has become a passion of mine, and I can confidently say these products, from the packaging to the unique combinations of ingredients, are extremely high quality. I 100% recommend this brand and I truly hope you give the products a try! Please let me know if you do!

Grow Fragrace Air + Fabric Freshener (100% Plant-Based) Review

Hello again, Veganeers!

I’m thrilled to start doing product reviews again, and I’m so excited to share this product with you!

Now more than ever, people are looking for healthier options for everything from the food they eat (go vegan!), the products they put on their body, to household cleaning items. There’s absolutely no need to use harmful, toxic chemicals and that’s why I’m so impressed with Grow Fragrance Air + Fabric Freshener!

This product is Leaping Bunny Certified 🐇 and made with 100% Plant-based ingredients. This is SO important when it comes to protecting yourself and your family from skin and respiratory irritants found in typical air and fabric fresheners (Febreeze, who?!). Why put chemicals into your body if you don’t need to?

I am always concerned about what my little dogs are being exposed to, so if you have fur babies or human babies 👶 in your home, please pay attention to the products you are using!

Now, onto the actual review!

I am a huge fan of the sleek, minimal, nature-inspired packaging of this spray! I selected the limited- edition Pine Forest scent to make my home smell like a holiday paradise, and I must say I ADORE this scent! The pine scent is fresh, natural, and authentic (no Pinesol, here!). After a couple of sprays – shake it up before you use it- I wasn’t sure if I was in my living room watching Youtube or lost in a forest! Really though, this spray did a great job covering up doggie odors and even the smell from the garlic tomato sauce I ate for dinner (does this also refresh garlic breath?!). So, as far as air fresheners go, it works and I love it!

This product certainly freshens the air, but what about fabrics?

To find out, I sprayed one of my knee-high boots (faux leather with fabric lining) that I stopped wearing because, well, they smelled pretty funky. 3 sprays later, I can say this product definitely works as a fabric refresher! (My one smelly boot was jealous, so I sprayed that one, as well).

Grow Fragrance Air + Fabric Freshener really gets the job done and has become one of my favorite products! I will definitely continue to use this to add some holiday spirit to the air and to de-funkify gym shoes, dog beds, etc.

Thank you, Grow Fragrance, for sending me this product to review!
